Voltas wins Ministry of Power's coveted National Energy Conservation Award for 2015

Voltas Limited, have been honoured with the First Prize in the category 'Manufacturers of BEE Star Labeled Appliances (Air Conditioner)', part of the National Energy Conservation Awards 2015. The company had previously won the same award in December 2013.

Conferred by the Ministry of Power's Bureau of Energy Efficiency, the award was presented to Voltas on National Energy Conservation Day by Shri Piyush Goyal (Union Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy).

Speaking on behalf of Voltas, Pradeep Bakshi (President and COO - UPBG & MCED) said, "It is indeed a privilege to receive this prestigious award, as it recognises our endeavour – and our mission – to manufacture and promote energy-efficient products, consistently invest in innovative technology and make it sustainable. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the National Energy Conservation Award committee for this honour and would dedicate this award to all our employees and business partners, for their commitment and exceptional contribution."

Since 1991, the National Energy Conservation Award has annually recognised manufacturers who have consistently made systematic efforts to create awareness about the use of energy-efficient appliances. The awards committee held that Voltas outperformed its competitors in terms of total sale of products in various star ratings, the energy savings generated, and percentage contribution of 5-Star rated products (among other criteria).

Voltas is the nationwide market-leader in split / window room ACs, as well as in 5-Star rated ACs, far ahead of its nearest competitor, as reflected in third-party retail audit reports. The company's success stems from its extensive market reach, strong value offerings (including the innovative 'all-weather' ACs), and reliable after-sales service.
